How to open Oysters: 1. Scrub oysters under cold water before opening. 2. Cover hand with a towel for safety and lay oyster flat in palm, locating the hinge. 3. Choke up on the handle towards the bolster. Insert the tip of the blade into the hinge of the oyster to pry open the shell with a twist of the blade. 4. Carefully slide the tip of the knife along the inside of the top shell to detach the upper muscles. 5. Once opened, use the serrated blade to gently sever the muscle from the lower shell.
