Italian sausage, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions. Legendary Chicago pizza since 1966. The original. Legendary Deep Dish: Gino's East has been fundamental to Chicago's pizza scene since 1966, when two taxi drivers and their buddy decided to open up shop near the bustling Magnificent Mile. The legend began when they hired Alice Mae Redmond, a talented Black chef with over 17 years of experience. Alice Mae put her heart and soul into making each pie, carefully stretching the dough into the pan and lovingly spooning on the sauce. But what truly sets Gino's East apart from the rest is the secret dough that Alice Mae created. To this day, it remains a closely guarded secret and gives the crust that special texture and flavor that makes a Gino's East pie like no other. So if you're ever in the Windy City, make sure to stop by the original location at 162 E Superior St. for a taste of some authentic Chicago-style pizza with a side of history. To prepare thawed, follow the above Frozen Pizza directions and bake until Pop - Up timer pops up. Crust should be golden brown. Approximately 25 to 35 minutes. Do not refreeze any frozen product that has begun to thaw. If thawed, please keep in refrigerator and bake within 2 days. Use of microwave ovens is not recommended.
